My work exists in Photographic Form
These photographs are taken by photographers I have met on my travels. Each one has been free to give their own interpretation of my work and location.
The names of each photographer is presented within this website.
My professional year is divided between working on specific paid commissions or working on personal projects from my home in local forests.
Theme
Forests have become places where I am constantly surprised and inspired by nature. It is my hope that my temporary sculptures also reflect this feeling of both surprise and discovery by those visitors in forests who may come across them.
My sculptures are temporary and often last just a few months before they return to the forest floor. Occasionally they might survive a year or two. Photographs of my work are presented on the internet, mainly within Facebook, Instagram and Online galleries.
Working Method
I continually construct and deconstruct, build and dismantle. Every piece I make is a new experiment, searching out endless possibilities. I am never sure of exactly where I am going, or how it might evolve. There comes a point where I can no longer move forward or backwards and then it’s time to stop.
Each sculpture represents a unique experience that I have had over weeks and or months..
Future
I am excited about the future though I am having to consider my age and ability to create in challenging environments. Perhaps I will soon need an assistant or perhaps just change direction a little and make smaller sculptures!
Either way it’s going to be fun to see how I will adapt and what opportunities lay in wait for me in the future.
